I'm a native of Tyler. This gives me a ton of naturally-acquired insight into this area. I've had the chance to watch Tyler and the entire East Texas area evolve - since the early 1970's. If I were moving to an area, I would absolutely want someone I could trust. Secondly, I'd want a Realtor who has long-standing perspective on the area.
