3D Home Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in Zillow 3D Home®, enabling you to capture virtual tours (“Tours”) and providing floor plans (“Floor Plans”) of your property. By using Zillow 3D Home, you agree to comply with the following 3D Home Guidelines (the “Guidelines”):

  • If you upload content via Zillow 3D Home (each, a “Submission”), you represent that you have all rights necessary to share and provide the Submission for use by Zillow as provided in the Terms of Use. As permitted under the Terms of Use, Zillow may display, distribute and otherwise use Tours and Floor Plans without restriction, including, without limitation, distribution to MLSs and other real estate websites. However, Zillow currently allows you to review and modify certain sharing preferences in the “Distribution” tab of your 3D Home Dashboard.
  • Zillow may edit your Submission to improve or clarify the content. Zillow may remove Tours that do not comply with these Guidelines or Zillow’s Terms of Use. Zillow does not review every Submission. While Zillow aims to publish a Floor Plan and/or Tour shortly after receiving the corresponding Submission, Zillow makes no representation that Submissions will be published in a timely manner. Zillow may publish Submissions connected to a particular address on all listings with such address on Zillow properties.
  • Subject to these Guidelines, Zillow grants you a license to use verified Tours and Floor Plans for the sole purpose of: (1) marketing the corresponding home while the current listing is live (not a future listing for the same home); and (2) in materials marketing your professional real estate or photography services.
  • You may not make any modifications to Tours or Floor Plans.
  • Floor Plans are created by Zillow, based on data submitted via the Zillow 3D Home app. All dimensions are approximate and subject to independent verification.
  • For clarity, Tours and Floor Plans may not be used for building or design purposes, or any other purpose not explicitly set forth in these Guidelines.
  • To read more about your rights and obligations related to using Zillow 3D Home and Zillow Group services generally, please read our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. You agree to be bound to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy by using any Zillow services.

Additionally, you agree to comply with the following submission guidelines:

  • Do upload quality panoramas through the Zillow 3D Home app.
  • Do add objective labels to the panoramas you submit (“Kitchen,” “Living room,” “Primary bath”).
  • Do include an appropriate number of panoramas to represent the property.
  • Do share your Tours on your brokerage/agent website, your member MLS (where allowed), and related social media accounts.
  • Do put away any documents/materials that contain personal information.
  • Do not associate a Tour with an address without the homeowner’s permission.
  • Do not include branding, images or other text in the panoramas or in other user interface elements on the 3D Home viewer.
  • Do not crop or zoom panoramas.
  • Do not upload panoramas that include people, pets or other private information, or inappropriate, illegal, unethical or otherwise off-topic content.
  • Do not upload panoramas for properties you do not own or have the owner’s permission to upload.
  • Do not add subjective labels to your Submission (“Best view in Seattle”, “Awesome kitchen”).
  • Do not make any inaccurate representations about a property.
  • Do not upload blurry, poorly lit or otherwise low-quality panoramas.
  • Do not let anyone else use your account to create a Tour.

Limited Floor Plan Indemnity

Zillow will defend, indemnify, and hold you harmless from any claims brought by the owner of a copyright in an architectural work, solely to the extent the copyright owner claims your use of Zillow’s 3D Home app to create a floor plan of the architectural work infringes their copyright in the architectural work. Zillow’s indemnification obligations are conditioned upon you: (a) complying with all terms of use, guidelines, policies and any other guidance that apply to Zillow’s 3D Home offerings, (b) providing Zillow with a request for indemnification promptly (within two business days) after receiving the first correspondence relating to a claim (including, without limitation, emails asserting copyright ownership or threatening action, cease and desists or other demands, and notice of litigation) (the “Correspondence”); (c) providing all Correspondence to Zillow within two business days of your receipt of such Correspondence; (d) granting sole control of the defense and settlement of the claim to Zillow, and (e) providing reasonable cooperation to Zillow. For clarity, Zillow may still elect, but will not be obligated, to defend against any claims if you do not comply with the foregoing conditions.
