I have been in business for 36 yrs. and have probably received 3 or 4 complaints over that time after performing tens of thousands of inspections. I performed an inspection for you 1.5 yrs. ago. A lot can happen in 1.5 yrs. If you had any issues with the inspection, you were required to notify me within 45 days so that I could reinspect and address your concerns (as per the signed inspection agreement). This you did not do. Instead, 1.5 yrs. later, you performed repairs, thereby destroying any evidence, preventing me from properly reinspecting, and then, demanded full reimbursement. I reinspected the property, finally, last week, and showed you in the report where your issues (fireplace; roof decking; and basement water penetration) were addressed. You stated that as a Russian immigrant you did not understand how things work in this country. You admitted to me that you never read the inspection agreement and, apparently, the report thoroughly where you would have read commentary addressing your concerns. However, apparently, this was to no avail. I have been in the inspection business a very long time. The claims have no merit-plain and simple. I might add that the realtor representing you (20+ yrs. in the business) corroborated this and, in his opinion, agreed that the inspector performed a thorough inspection and that the claims have no merit.
