I'm looking for a housemate to join me in a rowhouse in Upper Petworth/Brightwood Park starting November 1st (or earlier) for a one or two year lease. You would be getting your own room, your own bathroom, and a separate office space. Rent is $1600 plus utilities (or slightly less if we decide to sign a longer lease).
About the space: The 10' x 10.5' bedroom is cozy and bright, with two south-facing windows. It has an ensuite bathroom with a rainfall shower, plus two massive closets with lots of shelves and storage space.
The office is 8' x 11' with one large window, so it gets natural light throughout the day. It has a large storage closet, which we would share.
There is a washer/dryer tower in the upstairs hallway.
The first floor is a large, open plan room with a big sunny kitchen with tons of counter space, a dining area, and a living room. The downstairs common area is fully furnished. The bedroom is completely unfurnished and the office is currently semi-furnished.
The house is an end-unit rowhouse with a fenced-in front yard and porch, and gets lots of light from three sides.
The basement is a separate apartment area that our landlords plan to use as a commuter apartment once or twice a month, but it will often be unoccupied and quiet.
About me: I am a DC native in my early 30's, and I work at a local theatre in SW. I love crafting and cooking when I have the time or just relaxing and watching a movie or tv with friends. I love hosting gatherings & the occasional theme party. I also really love dancing and am often at ballet class, going line dancing, or practicing with a local dance group.
About you: My ideal roommate would be a woman or non-binary person in their late 20s to late 30s. I think the best fit for this space would be someone who works from home or has a hybrid schedule and would make good use of the office. I am also looking for someone who is friendly, and values cleanliness in shared spaces (especially the kitchen!). I have a fairly busy schedule and am often out of the house, but I would love to live with someone I can be friends with and would be down to hang out sometimes.
About the neighborhood: There is street parking by permit. There are several bus lines nearby, a bike share dock around the corner, and the Georgia Ave/Petworth metro station is about a mile away. It's a short walk to the businesses on Kennedy St, such as La Coop Coffee and ANXO.
If this all sounds like a good fit for you, please message me and tell me a little bit about yourself, and we can set up a time for you to come see the space!
