As this person stated, I wasn't her Realtor. I am a partner with others in a development for new homes. This buyer entered into a contract and then decided they didn't want to buy the land because the cost of the building of a new house was more than they were thinking it would be. Per the contract, if the buyer wasn't able to complete the transaction and it wasn't due to the inability for the land to be built on, the buyer is not entitled to receive their deposit back. We offered other solutions that could have worked on different lots, but they chose not to take advantage of those options
